Each month from February through October, Township Commons transforms into an all-out celebration of rhythm, joy, and community during the Rollin’ Homos monthly drag show on wheels, one of the Bay’s most inclusive and high-energy skate events –complete with DJ music. Every fourth Sunday, expect fabulous performances, live sets, and roller skaters of all levels joining together under the open sky. Whether you’re here to show off your moves, cheer from the sidelines, or soak in the waterfront vibes, it’s a true snapshot of Oakland’s creative soul just steps from Caspian.

For those looking to perfect their spins, slides, and line dances, Oakland’s skate scene has plenty of practice spots to keep you rolling. Midweek, head to Smith Park on Wednesdays from 5–8 PM for line dance and SK8 sessions with @DJKGEE_, or catch the Panther Prowl Pop-Ups every Thursday from 6–9 PM at Defremery Park in West Oakland. On weekends, join Saturdays in the Zone at 3 PM on the first and fourth Saturdays of each month at the UMOJA Outdoor Roller Skating Rink at Liberation Park in East Oakland. And for the ultimate lakeside vibe, roll out to the Lakehouse parking lot at Lake Merritt, where you may catch @DJ.GA keeping the beat alive.

Carry your skates across the Bay, San Francisco offers a few can’t-miss hot spots to sharpen your skills. Step inside the iconic Church of 8 Wheels Roller Disco, a former church turned retro skate haven or join the community at Skatin’ Place Sundays from 12–5 PM in Golden Gate Park. For a rooftop experience like no other, glide under city lights at SVN West’s seasonal rooftop roller rink, open Thursdays through Sundays through August.
